Privacy Policy

1. What is this Privacy Policy about?

Data protection is a matter of trust, and your trust is important to us. Although we have not changed how we handle our personal data, we are publishing a Privacy Policy on our website not only for our website visitors, but also for our customers—due to the entry into force of the revised Data Protection Act on September 1, 2023. We are committed to keeping you fully informed about the processing of your personal data. It is important to us that you understand:

– what personal data we process about you;

– for what purpose we use your personal data;

– who has access to your personal data;

– how long we keep your personal data;

– what happens with your personal data after the expiry of our business relationship or after the statutory retention period.

This Privacy Policy applies to all our services and activities, unless we provide you with our own privacy policies instead.

2. Who is responsible for processing your data?

3. What is “personal data” and what does “processing” mean?

“Personal data” refers to data relating to an identified or identifiable person, i.e. allowing conclusions to be drawn about their identity. “Sensitive personal data” is a specific set of special categories of data whose processing may be subject to special requirements. Sensitive personal data includes, for example, data that provide information about religion or political views, health data, and data concerning criminal or administrative sanctions, or concerning social support. In Section 5, you will find information about the data that we process within the scope of this Privacy Policy. “Processing” refers to any handling of personal data, in particular its acquisition, storage, use, disclosure, or erasure.

4. Who is affected by our data processing?

Our data processing may, in particular, affect the following persons (“data subjects”):

– Persons who use one or more of our services

– Contact persons of our business partners

5. What data do we process about you and for what purpose?

The data we process about you depends on your relationship with us. We process a range of data from various sources, depending on the occasion and purpose. We primarily collect this data from you, for example when you place an order for our services or when you communicate with us. We process personal data exclusively for the performance of the contract and comply with the legal requirements. We primarily process the categories of data described below, although this list is not exhaustive. If data changes over time (e.g. following a change of address or some other change), we can retain the previous data as well as the current data. “Master data” is the basic data that we need in addition to the contract data (name, address, e-mail address, telephone number) for the processing of our contractual and other business relationships or, if necessary, for marketing and advertising purposes (invitations to events, newsletters, etc.). In the case of customers and other contractual partners that are companies, we process data about our contact persons, e.g. name and address, information on titles, position in the company, qualifications and, if applicable, information about supervisors and employees. “Other data” is data about you that we collect in other situations, which we cannot conclusively describe in this Privacy Policy. Data is collected in connection with administrative or legal proceedings, for example (e.g. files requested by authorities). If you transfer data about third parties to us, we assume that you are authorized to do so, that this data is accurate, and that you have informed the relevant persons about this; by transferring data about third parties, you confirm that this is the case.

6. To whom will your data be disclosed?

Our employees have access to your personal data, act according to instructions, and are obliged to maintain confidentiality and secrecy when handling your personal data. Furthermore, the following institutions may gain knowledge of your data:

Authorities
Where necessary for order fulfillment, data will be passed on to authorities.

Service Providers
We mainly cooperate with service providers in Switzerland to enable us to provide our services. These services relate to IT services and marketing services, for example. We provide each service provider with the data required for their services and, through our contractual agreements and appropriate instructions, ensure that the service providers comply with data protection requirements during the entire processing time.

7. Will your data be disclosed abroad?

As explained in Section 6, your personal data is processed not only by us, but also, where applicable, by our service providers, which are generally located in Switzerland.

8. How long is your data stored?

The legal obligation to retain our documents is generally ten years or, in some cases, even longer (documents related to real estate).

9. What rights do you have?

In connection with our data processing, you have the right:

– to obtain confirmation as to whether or not we process your personal data and regarding which data we process;

– to have any inaccurate data rectified;

– to object to the processing of your personal data and to request the restriction of processing or the erasure of data unless we are obliged to process it further or are entitled to do so;

– to request the disclosure of certain personal data in a commonly used electronic format or to transfer it to another controller;

– to withdraw your consent to the extent that our processing is based on your consent.

Please note that certain conditions must be met for the exercise of these rights and that exceptions or restrictions may apply (e.g. to protect third parties or trade secrets). We will inform you accordingly if necessary. If you wish to exercise rights against us, please contact us in writing (see Section 2).

10. Can this Privacy Policy be changed?

This Privacy Policy may be updated at any time. We would inform you in the same way that we used to bring this Privacy Policy to your attention. The version published on this website is the latest version.
